Creed Bratton to rock Lakewood
Creed Bratton was one of the best minor characters on the TV show The Office, playing an enigmatic, slightly psychotic variation of himself. Before his stint on the NBC comedy, he gained fame as lead guitarist of the folk-rock group the Grass Roots (Let’s Live for Today). Check out his musical and comedic chops at 7 p.m. at Mahall’s 20 Lanes, 13200 Madison Ave., Lakewood. Tickets are $20 (the $40 VIP seats were sold out at press time). 216-521-3280, http://mahalls20lanes.com.
Over the Rhine at Wooster church
Over the Rhine will play a free concert at 7 p.m. at Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St. Married couple Karin Bergquist (vocals/guitar) and Linford Detweiler (piano/guitar/bass) have recorded 25 albums. Doors open at 6:15 and it’s expected to be a popular show; overflow seating will be available with streaming when the sanctuary fills up.
Don’t forget that it’s Weed Day
April 20, “Weed Day,” has become an unofficial annual holiday for pot smokers — the explanation is too long to include here — so the Cedar Lee Theatre has a double bill of Reefer Madness and Up In Smoke at 6:45 p.m. Admission is $4.20, of course. The Cedar Lee is at 2163 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights; 440-564-2030, www.clevelandcinemas.com.
