The Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio has announced recipients of the 17th annual Women of Achievement Awards, given to professional women in the public and private sectors who encourage success among other women in their careers and their communities.
Honorees will be recognized at a luncheon June 17 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.
Recipients are nominated by their peers. They are selected based on their history of going beyond their own personal and career accomplishments to encourage success among women, break down barriers, mentor others, take risks to overcome obstacles and support the progress of women.
Girls on the Run of Northeast Ohio will be presented with the Dorothy O. Jackson Award. The organization promotes happiness, health and self-confidence through running.
Laura Allio, a financial adviser with UBS Financial Services, will get the Emerging Leader Award.
Women of Achievement Award finalists include Amy Martin, a marketing partner at Jumpstart Inc.; Dr. Jennifer Savitski, the director and vice chair of obstetrics/gynecology for Akron General Health System, and Grace Wakulchik, vice president of operations and chief operating officer for Akron Children’s Hospital.
In addition, 25 nominees will receive Women of Professional Excellence Awards:

The awards luncheon will feature Sherry Neubert, vice president and chief information officer for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as keynote speaker.
Other guests include Cathryn O’Malley of Akron Children’s Hospital serving as emcee and Jill Kolesar of the Akron Area YMCA as honorary chair.
