Don’t be missing John Waite

John Waite has had a long career in music, beyond the ’80s smash Missing You; he was also frontman for The Babys (Back On My Feet Again) and Bad English (When I See You Smile). He’s on an acoustic tour that stops at 8 p.m. at the Music Box Supper Club in Cleveland; doors open at 6 for dining. Tickets are $35 at www.musicboxcle.com.

Astronomer’s take on ‘Apollo 13’

“Houston, we have a problem.”

The “Reel Science” film series at the Cedar Lee in Cleveland Heights features Apollo 13 at 7 p.m., with an introduction and post-film discussion with an astronomer from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History on “what the filmmakers got right and what is better classified as ‘creative license.’ ” Tickets are $7.50. 216-231-4600, www.cmnh.org/calendar/reel-science.

Orchestra plays for youngsters

The Canton Symphony Orchestra will present its 44th annual Kinder Concert at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday and 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the Great Court of Canton’s Cultural Center for the Arts. The full-orchestra concert is designed for young children (Pre-K through first grade) and will feature the children’s book Touch the Brightest Star by Christie Matheson, with excerpts from Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
