CLEVELAND: A northeast Ohio woman killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan will be among the first soldiers featured in a gallery of the future National Museum of the U.S. Army.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Army Historical Foundation says 1st Lt. Ashley White-Stumpf will be featured in the museum’s Soldiers’ Stories Gallery. The 24-year-old Alliance woman was killed in 2011 while serving on a cultural support team attached to a Joint Special Operations Task Force.

Officials expect to break ground this year for the museum in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The gallery will feature a larger-than-life etching of the faces of 41 soldiers chosen for service representing Army core values including courage and integrity.

White-Stumpf posthumously received awards including the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal.
