The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said an armed man kicked open the front door of a Coventry Township business and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

At 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said a thin, white male standing 6 feet tall entered the Palms Skills Games at 2766 South Arlington Road in Coventry wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket and black gloves. Police said he used a semi-automatic handgun with a laser sight as he ordered patrons to remain seated. He then alledgedly asked an employee to empty the cash register or the “people would be killed,” the sheriff’s office reported Thursday on its Facebook account.

The man is believed to have fled the Internet gaming business on foot, heading southwest along South Arlington Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at 330-643-2131 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-2677.
