Leaf pickup schedule for akron-canton area

Summit County

AKRON — Place loose leaves in the street no more than 2 feet from the curb the day before collection. Leaves also may be placed in recyclable paper bags, which can be purchased at many local stores. Residents may use any of their three annual bulk pickups for bagged leaves if they don’t want to wait for scheduled pickups. They will need to schedule through the 311 call center from any landline, or 330-375-2311 from any phone. Bulk pickups cannot be used for loose leaves raked to the curb.

The remaining collection dates, subject to changes caused by inclement weather, are Ward 7, Tuesday; Ward 6, Friday; Ward 8, Nov. 15; Ward 1, Nov. 25; Ward 4, Nov. 29; Ward 10, Dec. 3; and Ward 2, Dec. 7.

BARBERTON — Leaves must be raked into a row and placed in the street no more than 2 feet from the curb or edge of street without obstructing traffic before the day of scheduled pickup. Cleanup after Dec. 2, weather permitting. No pickups Nov. 11 and Nov. 24-25.

The schedule for streets without curbs: Ward 5, Monday through Wednesday; Ward 2, Nov. 14-18; Ward 3, Nov. 21-23 ; and Ward 6, Nov. 28-Dec. 2.

For curbed streets, residents should follow the street sweeper schedule. The sweeper will be pushing the leaves from 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Cars parked on the street during those hours will receive tickets. The areas are: east side/Austin Estates, Sunday (alternating weeks); north end, Monday; near west side, Tuesday; far west side, Wednesday; and downtown, Thursday.

Bagged leaves can be taken to the following drop-off areas: Newton Park, Edgewood Park and Tuscora Park. Leaves may either be dumped into loose piles or left in bags.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Place leaves in bags no larger than 50 pounds and place with regular trash.

BOSTON HEIGHTS — Leaves placed near road will be picked up on Mondays throughout the fall.

BOSTON TOWNSHIP — Place leaves along the edge of the property and they will be picked up through the first week of December.

CLINTON — No pickup.

COPLEY TOWNSHIP — No pickup.

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP — Residents only may drop off bagged leaves from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Nov. 19 at Logan Field on North Turkeyfoot Road. Senior citizens who need assistance transporting leaves should call 330-644-0785. Visit www.­coventrytownship.com for more information.

CUYAHOGA FALLS — Loose leaves at roadside will be picked up 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until Nov. 30. For pickup dates, visit www.cityofcf.com, click on “leaf pickup” box and enter your address. Otherwise, call 330-971-8031.

FAIRLAWN — Bagged leaves will be picked up every Monday through Nov. 28. All bags, not to exceed 35-gallon capacity, must be on the curb before 7 a.m. on pickup days. Branches and debris can be taken to the recycling center, 3300 Fairlawn Service Drive.

GREEN — Drop off leaves behind 5383 Massillon Road from noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday through December and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 3.

HUDSON — Leaf collection runs through week of Nov. 28. Leaves should be raked to the street edge before 7 a.m. on Monday of the scheduled pickup week. Residents on private streets or within private condominium developments should place their leaves along the public street nearest to their private street entrance.

Leaves will be picked up in each of four quadrants according to the following schedule: northeast (north of state Route 303, east of state Route 91), next week and Nov. 21; southeast (south of Route 303, east of Route 91), Nov. 14 and Nov. 28; southwest (south of Route 303, west of Route 91), next week and Nov. 21; northwest (north of Route 303, west of Route 91), Nov. 14 and Nov. 28.

LAKEMORE — Bagged leaves will be picked up with regular trash.

MACEDONIA — Place loose leaves in long windrows no more than 10 feet from edge of road and not in street, and at least 10 feet away from hydrants, mailboxes and light posts. No brush or yard debris. Deadline for putting leaves out is Nov. 28. Crews follow a collection schedule by streets, generally starting with streets south of state Route 82 and working their way north. The exact list can be viewed at www.macedonia.oh.us.

MOGADORE — Leaves raked to the curb but not into the street will be picked up throughout the fall. No branches or debris.

MUNROE FALLS — Loose leaves should be raked in front of property before 7 a.m. on Monday of scheduled pickup week. Zones 1 and 2 are all homes north of the Cuyahoga River, Zones 3 and 4 are south of the river. NEW FRANKLIN — Drop off leaves at Fleming Schubert Nursery, 6919 Manchester Road, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bagged leaves can be dumped out at the site, along with grass clippings and branches of 5 feet or less.

NORTHFIELD — Rake leaves to the curb in long rows, no further than 3 feet from the edge of the road but not in the street. No sticks, grass clippings or trash. Rows should be at least 10 feet away from any obstructions, such as hydrants, utility poles and mailboxes. Leaf pickup will start with Ward C and then Ward B. Once that side is complete, they will move to the west side of the village and pick up Ward A and then Ward D. Pickups will continue until Nov. 30. NORTHFIELD CENTER TOWNSHIP — For residents with curbed gutter drains, place loose leaves no more than 15 feet from the road. Residents with ditches should place leaves between ditch and home. First round of pickups will be through Friday. Second round starts Nov. 14, weather permitting. Visit www.northfieldcenter.com and click on “leaf collection” link for specific schedule.

NORTON — No pick up.

REMINDERVILLE — Leaves left in piles on tree lawn within 10 feet of pavement edge will be picked up weeks of Nov. 14, Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. Leaves must be out no later than 7:30 a.m. on Monday of week of collection. If there is a ditch along the pavement edge, leaves should be placed on the street side, not in the ditch.

RICHFIELD — Rake leaves to the front of property, but not into the street. Leaves will be picked up randomly throughout the fall.

RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP — No pickup.

SAGAMORE HILLS TOWNSHIP — Bagged leaves will be picked up on regular trash days.

SILVER LAKE — Rake leaves to the curb. Small branches are permitted, less than 10 feet and 4 inches in diameter. Crews will pass each street once a week through Nov. 30. Keep limbs and leaves in separate piles.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP — Leaves and yard debris can be disposed of at Earth ’n Wood, 2436 S. Arlington St., until it reaches its capacity for collection. Call 330-784-1771 for more information. Leaves can also be taken to Woodland Mulch, 2194 E. Waterloo Road, year-round. Proof of residency is required at site. Call 644-1900 for more information.

STOW — Rake leaves to the curb or tree lawn and they will be picked up as follows:

District 1 (north of Graham Road and east of state Route 91), Nov. 21-23.

District 2 (north of Graham Road and west of Route 91), Monday through Friday and Nov. 28-Dec. 2.

District 3 (south of Graham Road), Nov. 14-18 and Dec. 5-9.

TALLMADGE — Leaves should be raked to the edge of the pavement in front. No branches, brush or grass clippings. The city will no longer be split into weekly sections for collection. TWINSBURG — Rake leaves to tree lawn or edge of property. No twigs or grass clippings. Random pickups through December.

Medina County

COUNTYWIDE — The Central Processing Facility, 8700 Lake Road. Westfield Township, accepts all yard waste at no charge from county residents. Leaves must be dumped from plastic bags at the facility. Branches restricted to 4 inches in diameter and 12 feet long. Open 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

BRUNSWICK — Leaves should be placed within 4 feet of the edge of the street but not in the street. No debris is allowed. Collection by wards through late December as follows: Ward 1, Monday through Thursday; Ward 2, Nov. 11-16; Ward 4, Nov. 17-22; and Ward 3, Dec. 9-12. Bagged leaves will be picked up on regular trash days.

GRANGER TOWNSHIP — No pickup.

HINCKLEY TOWNSHIP — No pickup.

LODI — Rake loose leaves to edge of road for pickup until Thanksgiving.

MEDINA — Bagged leaves will be picked up on regular trash days. Rake loose leaves onto tree lawn next to curb or as close to city sidewalks as possible for scheduled pickups. No grass, branches or debris. Call 330-725-LEAF for schedule, or visit www.medinaoh.org and click on street department in service section, then “Leaf Program.”

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP — No pickup.

SEVILLE — Leaves should be raked into a row or piled within 4 feet of the curb or pavement. No branches are allowed. They will be picked up Monday through Friday through the week of Thanksgiving. For more information regarding the street schedule, visit http://­villageofseville.org.

WADSWORTH — Loose leaves will be picked up at tree lawn, with about four to six collections per street through fall. Loose leaves should be placed on tree lawn, not raked into the street, on Monday of scheduled pickup week. No yard debris is allowed. Schedule is: east of state Route 94, weeks of Nov. 14 and Nov. 28; west side of Route 94, next week and weeks of Nov. 21 and Dec. 5.

Portage County

BRIMFIELD TOWNSHIP — No pickup.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP — Rake leaves to roadside, at least 3-4 feet off the curb, by 8 a.m. on Monday of the collection week as follows: Franklin Hills, Kent Park and southeast Franklin Township, Nov. 14-18; West Twin Lakes and northwest Franklin Township, Nov. 22-25; and East Twin Lakes and Brady Lake area, next week and Nov. 28-Dec. 2.

GARRETTSVILLE — Rake leaves to tree lawn but not into the road and they will be picked up as needed.

HIRAM — Rake leaves to curbside and they will be picked up until late November. No branches or sticks.

KENT — Loose leaves raked to the curb will be picked on a continual basis through Dec. 9. For bagged leaves, call 330-678-8105 to schedule a pickup.

MANTUA — Leaf bags can be obtained at Village Hall, 4650 W. High St. The first six bags are free but additional bags cost 50 cents apiece. Filled bags will be picked up along the street edge on Tuesdays until December.

RAVENNA — Rake leaves to the curb. Pickups will begin with Ward 1, then proceed in order to Wards 2, 3 and 4 and back again until early December.

STREETSBORO — Rake leaves to the curb or road edge, away from ditches and mailboxes. Pickups will continue until heavy snowfall prohibits.

SUFFIELD TOWNSHIP — Drop off leaves at the designated location at 558 Etter Road. Only leaves will be accepted. No trash, limbs or brush, and the leaves must be removed from any bags. The site will be open during daylight hours until about Thanksgiving.

Stark County

CANAL FULTON — Rake loose leaves to curbside but not in the street and they will be collected through Nov. 23. No rubbish or yard waste is allowed. Leaves in paper yard bags may be taken to the yard waste bin at 13468 Weygandt St. NW, Lawrence Township.

CANTON — Bagged leaves placed at curb will be picked up on regular trash days through Nov. 30. Leaves must be in plastic bags, 32-gallon maximum.

HARTVILLE — Place loose leaves in front of residence, no more than 3 feet from road. No grass, branches or debris. Pickups through Nov. 30.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP — Drop off leaves at South Park, on the south side of Fulton Drive, just west of Jackson High School, dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Brush and branches accepted. Plastic bags must be removed. Curbside pickup in recyclable bags only will take place throughout November.

LAKE TOWNSHIP — Take unbagged leaves and yard debris to the Recycle Center, 1505 Midway St., 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP — Place leaves curbside in open, 30-gallon recyclable yard waste bags from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 2. No other type of bags collected. Bags are available at local hardware stores. Leaves in paper yard bags may also be taken to the yard waste bin at 13468 Weygandt St. NW.

MASSILLON — Loose leaves may be dropped off 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays at the City Garage, 401 Walnut Road SW.

NORTH CANTON — Place leaves and other yard waste in recyclable paper bags for pickup on regular trash days through Nov. 18. Up to 25 free bags available for city residents at Mohler’s True Value Home Center, 4214 Portage St. NW, while supplies last. For more information, call 330-499-5081.

PLAIN TOWNSHIP — Drop off unbagged leaves, branches and other yard waste at Fire Station No. 4, 2855 Easton St. NE, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week until Dec. 5. Closed all holidays. Yard waste may also be taken to Warstler Brothers Landscaping, 4125 Salway Ave. NW, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Dec. 17.

Wayne County

APPLE CREEK — Loose leaves will be picked up at roadside through Nov. 23. Everything east of High Street will be picked up on Tuesdays, and west of High Street on Thursdays.

CRESTON — Loose leaves raked to the curb will be picked up Monday through Friday, the first two weeks in December. No sticks or trash and no bagged leaves will be accepted.

DOYLESTOWN — Loose leaves will be picked up Monday through Wednesday east of Portage Street and Thursday-Friday west of Portage until end of November.

ORRVILLE — Place loose leaves on tree lawn and pickup will begin Monday through Nov. 14, starting with every street south of Market Street, and then moving to the north side of Market Street Nov. 15-23. One complete final pass will be Nov. 28-Dec. 2. Bagged leaves will be picked up on regular trash days.

WOOSTER — Leaves must be at curb the day before scheduled pickup. Rake leaves to tree lawn or edge or road in the 3- to 4-foot windrows. Remove all vehicles from the street by 7 a.m on pickup day.
