See Early American and contemporary crafts at Yankee Peddler

The Yankee Peddler and Yankee Peddler Today festivals run through Sept. 25, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, at Clay’s Park Resort, 13190 Patterson St. NW, Lawrence Township near Canal Fulton. Early American and contemporary arts, crafts, entertainment and food. $10 for ages 12-59, $9 for ages 60 and older, $3 for ages 6-11 and free for younger children. Take a tour of the Junior League Designer ShowHouse in Akron

The Junior League Designer ShowHouse opens to the public at 929 W. Market St., Akron. Tours are offered of house made over by interior designers and specialty vendors. It raises money for projects supported by the Junior League of Akron. Tickets are $20 in advance at Acme Fresh Markets in Summit County or $21 on the Junior League website; $25 at the door. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Thursday and Friday; 3-8 p.m. Sept. 24. ShowHouse continues until Oct. 9. www.JuniorLeagueAkron.org or 330-836-4905.

It’s a dog’s life in the Akron area:

• The 10th annual Paw Fest funs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bow Wow Beach Dog Park, 5027 Stow Road, Stow. There will be contests (dog/owner look-alikes, costumes, tricks), rescue groups, vendors and a raffle. Bring a pair of used eyeglasses for the Lions Club and park for free.
