Donate blood to help others

In the aftermath of the Orlando shootings, many people lined up to donate blood to help survivors. It’s a good thing to do anytime, and today is World Blood Donor Day, so why not give up a pint? See www.redcrossblood.org/northernohio for more information.

Take final ride on ‘Wild Side’

Motley Crue recently retired from touring after 35 years. Their final show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles was recorded for posterity, and The End will be shown in cinemas at 7 p.m. Bang your head one last time to hits like Kickstart My Heart, Girls, Girls, Girls, Home Sweet Home and Dr. Feelgood. Cinemas include Cinemark Cuyahoga Falls; Tinseltown USA, Jackson Township; and Valley View 24. See www.fathomevents.com for tickets.

Swim and listen to tunes

The Metro Parks Ensemble will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton in the bathhouse area. You can even swim for free between 3 and 7 p.m. 330-865-8065 or www.summitmetroparks.org.

Watch birds at Metro Parks

Here’s another way to get outside from Summit Metro Parks: Take a hike to look for grassland birds from 7 to 9 p.m. at Springfield Bog Metro Park, 1400 Portage Line Road, Springfield Township. Binoculars are recommended. 330-865-8065 or www.summitmetroparks.org.
