The National Weather Service is warning there will be a risk for severe storms Friday afternoon and again Saturday evening in Northeast Ohio.

The biggest risk from these storms will be potentially damaging winds and frequent lightning, forecasters say.

A warm front is expected to stall over Northeast Ohio on Friday sparking the possibility of showers and some isolated storms.

The weather services says the greater risk for severe storms to develop comes Saturday evening, when a strong cold front is expected to push its way across Northeast Ohio.

Warm temperatures coupled with the high humidity expected on Saturday could increase the risk of severe storms to develop over the region.

Temperatures will be on the rise with a “return back to summer weather” into the early part of next week.

The high will be in the upper 70s on Friday and well into the 80s on Saturday.

Sunny skies will return on Sunday and Monday with daily highs in the upper 70s.

Some clouds are expected to return on Tuesday with the high in the 80s.

The threat of rain returns Wednesday.
