COLUMBUS: Officials say firefighters put out a house fire in central Ohio and found a man critically hurt with a gunshot wound in the backyard.
Crews were called to the Columbus home late Tuesday. Battalion Chief Karl Jefferson tells WCMH-TV the fire and the shooting are believed to be related.
Police say the first floor of the home had a fire that was quickly extinguished. Officials say firefighters then found the wounded man in the backyard.
He was hospitalized in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. His identity wasn’t immediately known.
