Put on some snowshoes or skis
There’s finally enough snow for winter sports, and one great workout is snowshoeing. The National Park Service is presenting a snowshoe hike from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Cuyahoga Valley. Meet at the Kendall Lake Shelter off Truxell Road in Boston Township. The hike is free; snowshoe rental is available. Call 330-657-2752 for information. If cross-country skiing is more your speed, there are many great options in our local parks; try the Tree Farm Trail just south of Peninsula, where your route winds among rows of evergreens.
Young musicians ready to rock
Young local musicians get a taste of the big time at the Tri-C Rock Off: Final Exam, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, 1100 E. Ninth St., Cleveland. Three Legged Chairs featuring Copley and Archbishop Hoban students is scheduled to hit the stage at 5:20 p.m., Ballroom Charades of Cuyahoga Falls takes its turn at 7:30 p.m., and the Waves, who are repping Archbishop Hoban, go on at 9 p.m. Admission is $12; www.rockhall.com.
See antiques at Stark fairgrounds
The Olde Stark Antique Faire runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Stark County Fairgrounds, Exhibition Building, 305 Wertz Ave. NW, Canton, with more than 100 dealers and collectors.
